Garage Door Opener Repair
Screw drive garage door openers have a common repair and that is the trolley or carriage carrier. When the door starts to get heavy over time it adds stress to the trolley on a screw drive. The trolley can stripe and it will cause your door to slide when trying to open. This is a sign that the garage door torsion springs need to be replaced in most cases.
On chain drive garage door openers it’s not uncommon to have a broken sprocket or stripped gears. The sprocket is a stress point when the door is too heavy and the torsion springs are doing their job. You can extend the life of your garage door opener by replacing your gear and sprocket assembly.
The operator brackets on Wayne Dalton garage doors commonly pull out because they are not secured into anything with structure. These can sometimes be replaced but this is a common issue when the door is heavy and the springs need to be replaced.
