We installed this beautiful full-view aluminum and frosted glass garage door in Alpharetta, GA just north of Atlanta. The frame is clear anodized aluminum and the glass is 1/8 thick frosted. The door was ordered from CHI, installed and sold by Aaron Overhead Doors. We also installed a LiftMaster 8500 side-mount Jackshaft opener. This opener is a great combination with the full-view glass garage doors because it doesn’t stress the frame. With trolley openers, it pulls the door up from the frame. The side mount opener doesn’t pull the door up, it rotates the torsion tube resulting in a smooth, quiet, great operating opener that will help the glass garage door last even longer.
The frosted glass is not only classy but provides more privacy than clear glass. Glass garage doors are considered modern, although this one was put on a home that was more farmhouse. This detached garage was built to work on broncos. Our client was an avid mechanic and loved to restore old broncos.
The CHI 3295 gives you thick frames and multiple glass options.
You may also check out Raynor & ArmRLite as they are better known for their glass garage doors than CHI but they all have their pros and cons.
