Project Description
Our client just bought this home when they inquired about the basement glass garage door and the garage door on the front of the home. This door was designed to go as close to the ceiling as possible. Open or closed, its primary goal was to open up space a little. Prior to us installing the garage door there was a brick wall there. We installed a 14×14 Clopay Avante W/ LiftMaster 8500 side mount garage door opener. The track and hardware we’re designed to match the door frame.
Garage doors being installed in basements are a growing trend. It’s a great way to open the space and create an indoor/outdoor space. After discussing with our client, she said the only thing she would do differently (which we may do) is to add a screen to help keep the bugs out. When they open the door at night with the lights on, she said that the bugs get in. Solutions for that are a screen or an air curtain.
